Backend developer

Are you an experienced and curious backend developer who wants to build solutions used by millions of people? We’re looking for someone to help us develop, operate, and improve Spond and our technical infrastructure.

As a Backend Developer at Spond, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team with specialists in frontend, product, and design. We work as one team, and everyone is involved throughout the entire process, from ideas and feature discussions to launch, operations, and continuous improvement.

You’ll join an experienced group of developers, many of whom have been here for years because we truly love what we do and the product we build.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and operate Java and Go-based microservices in Kubernetes on AWS
  • Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and code reviews
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and developers to create solutions that solve real user problems
  • Improve performance and stability across systems (handling more than 1 billion requests weekly)
  • Automate and optimize CI/CD pipelines with CircleCI
  • Contribute to uptime through monitoring, troubleshooting, and on-call rotations

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience building and running Java and/or Go microservices at scale
  • A product-focused mindset, always thinking about the end user when making technical decisions
  • A structured, solution-oriented approach, and a love for writing clean, maintainable code
  • Continuous desire to learn and share your knowledge

And remember: We know nobody can do everything. If you have solid backend experience and a drive to grow, we’d love to hear from you! Just register your interest in this form. No CV or cover letter required.
